IT Specialist & Instructor — National Service

Naval Forces Command — Department of Information Technology Algeria

Posted to the IT department for the working portion of mandatory national service (which began September 2025 with closed initial training), doing two jobs at once: building and running the department's internal systems, and teaching the people who had to use them.

  • Built and maintained internal business applications in Oracle APEX on Oracle Database
  • Administered Active Directory and Windows Server for departmental users and machines
  • Developed internal web tooling to replace manual, paper-based processes
  • Taught programming fundamentals and full-stack web development — FastAPI, SvelteKit, PostgreSQL and Docker, plus Git-based workflows and containerising projects
  • Ran hands-on training sessions on the systems I had built, so the department could run them without me
